Keynote – Getting Results with Simple and Pragmatic IoT
Engineers have always found ways of finding out what's happening with their equipment - maybe it's a screwdriver held against a noisy bearing, feeling the motor cage temperature with your hand and using a tongue tester to check electric current. No matter how much complex analytics equipment is available, the fundamental physical properties of equipment will never change. This presentation explains how you can use relatively simple, inexpensive IoT based solutions to capture temperature, electrical current and vibration data common to most manufacturing equipment.
Keynote – Operations 4.0: The Next Generation of Operational Excellence
Manufacturing sits at the epicentre of Industry 4.0. The second wave of Industry 4.0 introduces a new era of Operational Excellence that transforms the design, manufacture, operation and service of products and production systems. Connectivity and interactions between parts, machines, and people deliver a step change in productivity and allow for new levels of mass customisation. Henrik, who is referred to as the ‘Father of Industry 4.0’ and who was the mastermind behind Germany’s digital industrial strategy, will discuss how the impact that this new era of operational excellence will have on the competitive landscape of the manufacturing industry.
Discussion Host Introductions
Discussion Session 1
During the conference choose five discussion groups from across all three conference streams. Each discussion group lasts for 30 minutes and is limited to 7 delegates. All discussion groups are concurrent, allowing you to work your way through the discussion groups that matter most to you over the course of the day. Choose from the list of discussion groups below in this stream, or click a tab to see the available discussion groups in the other conference streams.
Discussion Session 2
Coffee Break & Networking
Keynote: How to Fish (in a Sea of Process Data)
Many manufacturers collect vast amounts of data from their processes, but are hard-pressed to use that data to create value. Opportunities to improve a process can be found using very simple techniques. Graham will be discussing his experience in this area.
Discussion Session 3
Keynote: F.F.S. | Failing Forward Successfully – The 2 Sides of Cultural Transformation
Keynote: Digital Transformation – Successful and Sustainable Projects
Investing time and effort in the early stages of any digital transformation project pays dividends with the subsequent implementation and ROI. From clear project planning and road-mapping, to careful review of solution options and selection of technology, having the right approach will create a solid foundation before moving on to the implementation phase.
Discussion Session 4
Discussion Session 5
Panel: The Future of Manufacturing
Experienced manufacturers and industry experts discussing what manufacturing may look like in 20 years.
